nextgen.careers offers talents a job board where they can find companies with purpose. It offers a simple system to assess what purpose a company has, how the company is putting its purpose into action, and whether the company is achieving any meaningful progress towards its purpose.

How we assess a company's purpose

Based on the science of purpose cultivation at an individual and a corporate level, nextgen.careers has developed a simple Purpose Framework to help assess a companies purpose. The Purpose Framework allows companies to define their purpose throughout three dimensions and allows them to communicate what their purpose is.

The three dimensions of purpose are …

  1. Intention – What are we doing and what is our motivation behind it?
  2. Meaningfulness – How is the goal you are pursuing meaningful to the company and how does the company it stays on track?
  3. Contribution – How does the company measure its health and achievements? What is the impact they want to have and are they actually achieving it?

How companies get a "Proof of Purpose"

Companies with a "Proof of Purpose" on this site have done a workshop with us to clarify their purpose by answering a set of questions that correspond to the three dimensions. This workshop is for free so there is really no excuse for not having a "Clear Purpose." Beware of companies not having it! In our experience, they are using purpose only for marketing ... 🤨

Second, they either use the tools we offer them or allow us to survey their employees to asses whether they are putting in the effort required to satisfy the conditions of the three purpose dimensions listed above.

Third, companies with a "Proof of Purpose" use the tools provided by nextgen.careers to

  1. prioritise their initiatives in a way that maximises their input and outcome,
  2. have achieved an average Purpose Index of at least 50% throughout the last three months, and
  3. can quantify their progress towards their goal and even demonstrate an increase in their effectiveness and efficiency to make the world a better place.

  • has been on a "Path to Purpose" and can, thus, demonstrate their commitment to achieve meaningful goals

  • is accepting free coaching and advice to optimise their purpose cultivation,
  • gets a monthly assessment of how the company is doing regarding their purpose cultivation which allows it to intervene where necessary, and
  • can design its incentives in a way that correspond to their purpose and maximise outcome.
